Overview

Meet the MgcSTEM 2-in-1 Low Voltage Disconnect and Charging Discharging Protection Module. Built for energy projects that balance power needs with reliable safeguards, this compact board manages energy flow across a broad range from 5V to 60V and up to 40A. The design blends charging cut-off when a target voltage is reached with safeguards to prevent deep discharge, making it a practical addition for hobbyists, solar setups, and portable power systems.

Two-in-one protection for charging and discharging

In charging mode, connect sources such as solar panels or other power supplies, and the unit automatically disconnects when the preset voltage is reached. In discharging mode, the device acts as a safeguard against low voltage by cutting off the load when battery levels fall too low. This dual capability helps tailor energy sessions to battery chemistry and daily usage patterns without guessing how much energy is left.

  • Charging mode supports solar charging and other charging sources
  • Discharging mode provides low voltage protection for batteries
  • Automatic and manual low-power options to suit your workflow

Power-smart operation modes

Two low-power modes offer flexibility. In manual mode, the relay stays disengaged after disconnection and requires a reset, effectively consuming zero power post-disconnect. In automatic mode, the relay enters a low-power state after disconnection; the LED indicator fades after 60 seconds of inactivity and reactivates when you press a button. Standby current is about 5 mA at 18V, and the device restarts automatically when input voltage returns.

  • Manual mode delivers zero-power post-disconnect behavior
  • Automatic mode minimizes energy draw with a 60-second LED lull
  • Automatic restart occurs when the source voltage recovers

Memory and reliability

The module includes an internal flash storage feature so your configuration survives power loss. You can power down and back up, and the device remembers your last setup without reconfiguration.

Delays, timing, and safeguards

Designed for precise control, it supports a 99 seconds start delay, 99 seconds disconnect delay, and a long timer of 99:59:59 to schedule disconnects. These options suit timed charging routines, battery management tasks, and experimental setups.

Key specs at a glance
