How it works

One treatment is designed to last 2 to 3 years. Installation is straightforward: tap the implant into pre-drilled 1/2" holes in the lower trunk at 4 to 6 inch spacing using a hammer and bolt or dowel rod. The cartridge head securely plugs the small wound, and the cambium is expected to begin closing the implant site as part of the tree’s natural healing process. Under normal moisture conditions, the iron moves through the tree within 14 to 21 days, which can support quicker green growth and new shoot development.
