Overview

Baquacil Sanitizer is the chlorine-free sanitizer and algistat that kicks off the Baquacil Pool Care System. It targets bacteria buildup and helps curb algae growth without relying on traditional chlorine. The formulation is designed to be highly stable and sun protected, so the sanitizer remains active even on bright, hot days. This half gallon container is sized for ease of use in larger pools and makes it straightforward to start and maintain a clean, balanced water environment.

Key Benefits

  • Chlorine-free sanitizer that helps control bacteria and algae within the Baquacil Pool Care System.
  • Highly stable and protected from the sun, reducing rapid degradation in sunny pool settings.
  • Half-gallon packaging designed for treating up to 10,000 gallons at about 50 ppm.
  • Simple dosing options: 1/2 gallon per 10,000 gallons to reach 50 ppm; 1 pint per 10,000 gallons to raise by 10 ppm.
  • Maintenance-friendly guidance: weekly checks help keep sanitizer around 50 ppm with a minimum of 30 ppm.
  • Integral part of the Baquacil Pool Care System, supporting overall water quality management.
  • Important compatibility notes: avoid many detergents and copper-based algicides; do not use in freestanding spas or certain metal-exposed plaster pools.

Usage and Maintenance

Start Up for freshly filled pools: after backwashing or cleaning the filter and adjusting pH to 7.2 to 7.6, add Baquacil Sanitizer to reach about 50 ppm. Use 1/2 gallon per 10,000 gallons. Wait 24 hours, then test pH and sanitizer concentration with Baquacil test strips and adjust as needed.

  • Backwash or chemically clean the pool filter if algae or haziness appear.
  • Check and adjust pool pH to 7.2 to 7.6 before sanitizer dosing.
  • Deposit 1/2 gallon per 10,000 gallons to achieve 50 ppm sanitizer level.
  • After 24 hours, recheck pH and sanitizer concentration and adjust as necessary.

Normal pool routine: weekly checks are recommended. Maintain Baquacil Sanitizer at about 50 ppm. If the concentration drops by 10 ppm or more, add a top-up dose. Do not let the level fall below 30 ppm. For a 10 ppm rise, add 1 pint per 10,000 gallons of water. For calculation guidance, consult your Baquacil dealer.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: Poly hexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (20%). Other ingredients: 80%.

Notes on Safety and Compatibility

Baquacil Sanitizer is not recommended for use in freestanding spas or in unpainted plaster pools previously exposed to metals, as staining may occur. It is not compatible with many detergents and some copper-based algicides. For best results, consult your Baquacil dealer if you have questions about water quality or system setup.
